Standout Space: Two Wheel View

Changing Lives With an Inspiring New Space

It was a fresh new chapter for Two Wheel View, as they upgraded to a bigger location. But this well-loved local nonprofit didn’t know what to do with all of that space! We helped them optimize their layout and translate their story into thoughtful design…so they could continue changing lives with bikes.

“It was triple our previous square footage and gave us new spaces we had never had in our previous location so we really didn't know where to start. I love the transformation that occurred from when we first walked in. It is now so bright, fresh and clean! In some ways it feels like our old building is brand new!

- LAURA ISTEAD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, TWO WHEEL VIEW

Authentic & Aligned Design

Two Wheel View was a non-profit organization built with heart (and a lot of it!). So their new space needed to be a warm, welcoming, and inspiring headquarters for their life-changing youth programs.

We created a design that captured the essence of their down-to-earth grassroots nature – but also their meaningful ‘why’ behind the brand.

The Story Headline: “The place where our community gathers and we all belong.”

Our People-First Approach In Action

At Peyton Interior Design, we create spaces for the love of people. And this project was extra special because Two Wheel View was founded on the idea of showing love and support to young people in Calgary!

People-First Decisions

  • The former space had limited flexibility or opportunity for the entire team to come together. In planning the new facility, we prioritized multi-purpose spaces that could be easily converted between functions..

  • We’re working with one of their youth groups to facilitate a collaborative design questionnaire and workshop for the Youth Space and lounge area. With our support, they’re hoping to re-engage the older graduates of their program and create a meaningful environment they want to keep coming back to.

“We knew we wanted to create a warm, welcoming, and inspiring atmosphere for our clients, staff, and volunteers. Everyone who visits the space absolutely loves it. Most comment on the transformation that took place from our move-in to now.”

- LAURA ISTEAD

Thoughtfully Designed: The Bold Gesture

The bold gesture for Two Wheel View was centered around a flexible space layout.

Originally, the client planned to locate their kitchen in a tucked-away area to create small savings in plumbing costs. But through our discovery process, the importance of creating a central gathering area became clear – so we decided to position the team space in the centre of it all.

And we didn’t stop there! We planned for lots of different use scenarios for the central space, from board meetings to cocktail functions and more intimate lounge setups. Because of its adaptability, they can now lease the space to fellow community organizations as another source of revenue and community-building.

ThE EXPERIENCE MATTERS

When you work with us, the experience matters as much as the outcome. We’re your partners from start to finish, so the end result is better than you ever could have imagined!

“Our experience working with Kerri and Avril at Peyton Design was incredible. We never would have been able to come up with such a cohesive vision for our space, source incredible materials, and get things started on our own. They really listened to who we are and what we wanted to provide for folks who visited our space. They are responsive, kind, creative, and fun!” - LAURA ISTEAD
